COCOA BROWN KIND SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER.

Marissa Carter the ambassador behind the brand Cocoa Brown is a genius when it comes to self tan. I honestly couldn't praise the tan enough if I tried and their 1 hour tan mousse is still my all time favourite self tan. So when I heard about their new hair care range including their new Kind shampoo & conditioner I couldn't wait to try it out. What I love about this product is that Marissa actually designed the product to use for her self as she has stated previously that she's suffered with psoriasis and a sensitive scalp, but hasn't found anything for her hair that treats this as well as adding volume and shine to her hair. I was really excited about this product as I've previously suffered with a sensitive scalp myself and it's still an on going battle.

I don't know about you, but I can be very picky when it comes to picking out my shampoo and conditioner. I don't mean I spend £30 on one shampoo, but I will look into what I'm buying before just adding it to my basket. I need something that's hydrating, gives me volume, shine and something that doesn't irritate my scalp. That's why I was so happy to try out the shampoo as it's paragon-free, alcohol-free and a formaldehyde-free product. The conditioner is also free of any nasties, making both of these hair products great to use on my coloured hair and extensions. There's nothing worse than those shampoos and conditioners that do nothing for your hair. Well other than making you want to wash it over and over again.

So what makes this Shampoo & Conditioner so Kind? Firstly the cleansing agents have been made up from natural sources including coconut oil, and fruit sugars. The Cocoa Brown Kind Range has a subtle Peach and Tahitian Gardenia scent to the product. It's not strong at all and I really love the  subtle scent it leaves in my hair (we all know how much I love peach). In fact the scent is that lite that the brand didn't have to list it on their product if they didn't want to, but of course they have.

I tried the Cocoa Brown Kind Shampoo & Conditioner out for a week before writing the review. My hair type is fine, but I have a lot of it so trying out a new shampoo can sometimes be scary! I often find that certain shampoos and conditioners weigh down my hair and make it look really flat and lame, but I'm so happy with the results! My scalp has been really clear and itch free. I'm happy with the volume and shine its given me too, which is amazing for a shampoo & conditioner that doesn't contain all the baddies!

Also if you're a fake tan lover like myself you'll also love that Marissa has made sure that the pH Balance of these products won't interfere with your tan. Helping to maintain your tan and ensuring an even fade. How amazing is that?!

Here is a photo of my hair after using the Cocoa Brown Kind Shampoo & Conditioner. As you can see there's a lot of volume and shine and most importantly it's hasn't budged my new pink hair. Yay!

SCOTT CORNWALL COLOUR RESTORE ICED PLATINUM & SHINE ON HAIR GLAZE.

Scott Cornwall is a hair care brand that is available online via our local UK drugstores such as Boots, Superdrug etc. You can also buy these products off of Amazon. This range aims at enchansing your hair colour and removing those old colours that you no longer want. Now if you're anything like me and you've had your hair every single colour under the sun and you're all for trying a new hair treatment, you'll know just how excited I was to try out these new products.

Scott Cornwall Colour Restore - Iced platinum hair toner 100ml £12.99*

Now anybody with blonde hair will understand just how hard it is to get the perfect blonde hair. We all want that perfect white blonde and never want our freshly dyed hair hair to appear ginger or have an awful brassy/yellow tinge to it. What the Scott Cornwall Colour Restore in Ice Platinum does is tones your hair, so you can say goodbye to that awful yellow, brassy hair and say hello to your new white platinum locks. Now if you're reading this and thinking, but I don't have blonde hair? Don't worry Scott Cornwall also comes in Cool Ash, Chocolate, Warm Honey and Deep Red. What I also love about this product is that you can use it as an intense toner treatment for 20-25 minutes or you can use it as an everyday condition and you'd only have to leave it on a couple of minutes and a little goes a long way so you'd get several goes out of this bottle.

How to:
Before we start you should ALWAYS make sure you do a skin test before going ahead with any hair product. This one takes 48 hours, but it's well worth the wait (trust me I've had a reaction before). Also make sure you wear gloves, old clothes or protect yourself with a towel as you may stain your clothes.

Step 1 - Wash your hair with a clarifying, clear or baby shampoo do not use conditioner and then towel dry your hair.
Step 2  - Apply & Develop
So after you've towel dried your hair squeeze a small amount of the toner into your hand and smooth evenly all over. Then you should comb through your hair for the first 5 minutes and then leave the hair to develop. This should take a further 20 minutes.
Step 3 - Rinse off your hair using luke warm water (not hot) do this until your water is running clear again. You won't need to condition your hair after applying this toner as it is also a conditioning treatment.

I honestly couldn't believe the results after using this product. I didn't expect much as I've just got a dull set of highlights, but it's brightened up my hair so much! This stuff is AMAZING! Now years ago I had the lightest, silver hair you could possibly wish for, but eventually my hair ended up being damaged and I had no option but to dye my hair dark. Now this was my fault because I was having my hair double coloured as I couldn't find a toner that worked without damaging my hair. Now if I would of had this product back then I don't think my hair would of been half as bad as it was. If you have blonde hair that needs toning then you definitely need this product in your life! It's one doll of a toner! Now not only did the product tone my hair, but it also left my hair feeling so soft, and it got rid of my daily frizz. Hallelujah!

Tip: when combing through your hair use a wide tooth comb, especially those of your with curly, frizzy hair.

Scott Cornwall Shine On Hair Glaze £12.99*

Scott Cornwall Shine On Hair Glaze is a hair conditioning treatment that may last in your hair for up to 24 washes, how amazing is that? I love these kind of treatments (so long as they aren't too heavy on the hair). Shine on is suitable for all hair types and hair colours, including bleached and grey hair. As the  products in this box set don't contain any ammonia or harsh chemicals and only uses a mild developer for increasing the hairs hydration and to protect against hair cortex. Now this box set comes with 3 separate hair products, which also includes gloves, instructions and it will only take you 20 minutes to achieve the 'desired look'.

How to:
The same again with this product, just like I mentioned above. You should ALWAYS make sure you do a skin test before going ahead with any hair product. This one takes 48 hours, but it's well worth the wait (trust me I've had a reaction before). Also make sure you wear gloves, old clothes or protect yourself with a towel as you may stain your clothes.

Pre Cleansing Treatment Part 1
Step 1 - Rinse hair under water for 1-2 minutes
Step 2 - Place a small amout of the pre cleansing treatment into your hands and work through the hair and then rinse thoroughly (this will get rid of any previous products such as shampoo, conditioner, styling products, dry shampoo etc.). Lightly towel dry the hair and apply a second amount of the pre cleansing treatment, lather and comb through your hair for about 2-3 minutes and then rinse off the hair and then lightly towel dry the hair.

Mixing & Preperation Part 2/3
Step 1 - Unscrew applicator nozzle on part 3 Collagen shine cream, pour all of part 2 developer into the part 3 bottle, replace nozzle and screw tightly. Gently shake the bottle for about a minute to make sure every things mixed together.
Step 2 - Apply cream directly onto damp hair starting at the mid-lengths and ends of the hair and then gently comb through. Make sure you leave a very small amount in the bottle for later on.
Step 3 - Finally apply to the root areas (or you could skip this step if you don't like your roots to look shiny). Then leave to develop for 20 minutes,
Step 4 - Before rinsing, apply the rest of the bottle to the hair and leave on for 1 minute. Then using luke warm water gently run the water through the hair to clear and of the creams residue (for about 3 minutes).
Step 5 - For best results you can blow dry, straighten to complete the treatment and have the full effect. (using straighteners shuts the cuticle and encloses the crystal clear molecules inside the hair). Don't wash your hair for 48 hours for best results!

I would recommend this to anyone with lifeless, dull hair to help regain that glossy shine that your hairs been missing out on. I haven't washed my hair 24 times yet, but it has lasted in my hair the 5-6 times that I have washed it. The fact that it's tames my frizz is a big bonus! (anyone that suffers with a daily frizz will get me) ha. So yeah it's definitely worth a try, I mean we all have different hair types and different hair conditions, so it's never going to work the same on everyone, but I hope you enjoy using this product as much as I did.

Product Of The Week #2 - SAMY - FAT HAIR

Samy - FAT hair "0" calories

Do you suffer with fine fly away hair? This product may be the one for you!

Samy - FAT hair is a thickening creme that will help give your hair great volume, thickness and fullness. Let me just state - it does what it says.  I've been using this product for many, many months now. Although I don't use it every time I dry my hair, but at least once a week and definitely on the day of a night out. Samy - FAT hair makes styling your hair so much easier and gives you that extra omft.
I always receive comments on how large my hair is, which I hope is a good thing! - 'That's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets' - Mean Girls. That would definitely relate to me ladies haha. This is one of my key ingredients though and of course my back combing brush. The bigger the better in my eyes.
The scent of this product reminds me of my favourite sweeties (fruit salad-chewits). It smells so good that I could lick it! Please DO NOT do that though ha ha.

How I apply:
  • I wash my hair like I usually would (2x shampoo, 1x conditioner)
  • I then towel dry my hair. Don't be too rough though ladies! I just usually squeeze the towel into my hair.
  • Take a pea sized about of the product and work though the hair from root to ends.
  • Blow dry that hair! This will use the product to it's full potential. I find by blow drying I get volume, thickness and fullness. If you're not one to blow dry you can just leave it to dry naturally and you will still notice a thickness to your hair.

One of the great things that I found about this product, other than it making my hair huge! Is that the product didn't leave my hair feeling greasy or heavy. You know that feeling when you can feel the product in your hair? I suppose it's applying the right amount though and everyone's hair is different. Now if you were to ask me if 'I would I buy this product again?' YES! and guess what? I already have. In fact most of my family are using this stuff now.

Purchased from my local Superdrug drug store for just £5.99 and is currently on offer at £2.97 - bargain!

What's your favourite product for adding thickness and volume?

Aussie; Shampoo, Deep Conditioner, Deep Treatment

Hair talk...
This is going to be a bit of a rant as it is quite upsetting (for me haha).
Over the last few years I've probably experienced every bad thing that could possibly happen, believe it or not. From allergic reactions (my head been swollen with loads of fluid) to my hair falling out.
I think it were March last year when I had to have all my hair cut off :( It was down my back and platinum blonde previously. Silly little me had some extensions put it for my birthday and they ruined my hair, as my hair was too weak to carry them, but I didn't realise this until I took them out and had no hair left! I had to have it all cut off to my shoulders, well what was left off it and had to get rid of the blonde hair that i'd supported for years. That was me 'oh yeah her with the bright blonde hair', I remember crying over a pizza about it and my dad went out and bought me a hair dye, bless him.
So I dyed it red and it was cut shorted than my shoulders. Then I went every colour under the sun from red to purple to blue to brown to black to ginger and now I'm my natural mucky blonde with highlights. My hair still doesn't feel great and I probably need another 2 inch cutting off it for all the bad to be completely rid of, but I hate having my hair cut!

So what I want to do now is find the miracle solution to get help my hair grow and get thicker.
Does anyone know of anything that's good?
I know your diet is a main part of this, but there are things that can help it happen faster. I just don't know of many haha!

So anyone that knows me will know how much I LOVE Aussie shampoo & how much I go on about the smell of it. If only they made a perfume or body lotion that smelt the exact same.
I always enjoy reading what other people use on their hair, as I'm always open to try new things.

Aussie - Aussome volume shampoo 300 ml
This shampoo is made to give you that extra va va voom (volume) and is aimed at people with fine/limp hair. I put myself under that category when my hair is damaged and I do seem to have fine hair, but lots of it. I don't really buy this product for the effect on it though, its just the smell of this shampoo is amazing! I do notice that my hair is left feeling light and bouncy when I use this, more so if I blow dry it too.

Aussie - 3 minute miracle reconstructure/deep conditioner 250 ml
Now when I repurchased this recently after having a break from Aussie for a few months. I were so happy to smell the scent of the product, as it is now the same as the 'Aussie - Aussome volume shampoo'. I had to have a little break from Aussie hair products, as just like my face with skincare, my hair gets use to the same products when I use them over and over, so I have to have a little change every now and then. Now you leave this conditioner on for 3 minutes for the full effect, which to be is brilliant for when I'm in a rush and haven't got time to sit and wait an hour for it to work.

What I like about this deep conditioner is
  • Obviously the smell of the product (sorry if I've mentioned this over and over, I can't rate it enough) haha.
  • It doesn't weigh your hair down like a lot of deep conditioners tend to do.
  • Leaves my hair feeling super soft, moisturised and shiny.
  • My hair seems to be stronger when I use it.
  • The packaging is fabulous! If your like me and hate opening bottle lids in the bath you'll love this. You just squeeze them and it comes out of the bottom, you don't end up wasting product either :)

Aussie - 3 minute miracle colour mate/deep treatment 250 ml
Now this one is aimed more at people with coloured hair, as I've got highlights I'll give any conditioner/deep treatment a go. It was my first time trying this one as I haven't noticed the 'colour mate deep treatment before' I usually pick the one above, but when it's on offer you can't not try something new. Now this one smells a little different to the others it's more of a peachy scent, which I don't mind as it's quite cute. I found that this conditioner made my hair feel nice and not as dry, but nothing spectacular. I prefer the other conditioner to this one.

I got these 3 on offer at a Boots drugstore for 3 for £10, but if you have a look about you can drop on with good deals. I know my sister gets hers from B&M for cheap as chips too.

Now that's the stuff I like to apply when I'm having a bath/shower. I also have two favourites that I like to apply after I've shampooed/conditioned my hair and that's these little gems below.

Samy - Fat hair "0" calories thickening crème 155 ml
This stuff is amazing! I don't apply this every time I wash my hair. I apply it before I'm going out or when I know I'm going to wear my hair down. It really does make your hair feel so much thicker. All you have to do is squeeze a little into your hand and rub through your hair from roots to the ends. It's so quick to apply and doesn't really have a strong scent to it, just a light one that smells like fruit salad chewits?
If you have this already or you've got your eyes set on  purchasing it, word of warning - don't apply to much other wise it will weigh your hair down and make it feel really heavy.
I bought this from Superdrug when it was on offer ages ago and can't remember the price I paid. It is retailed at £5.99.

Moroccan oil 25 ml
You all probably know how good this little gem is, as it's raved about in the blogging world quite a lot and it get's a lot of good reviews. It's just a must have hair product! MY MUST HAVE HAIR PRODUCT. If you were to ask me to choose between a good conditioner or this.. I'd have to choose this. I apply about half the size of a 5p coin to my damp hair after towel drying my hair and rub it into the ends of my hair. It has a gorgeous coconut scent to the oil and makes your hair so soft & shiny.
I got mine off of eBay for about £12/£13 and when I received it I though my god that's tiny for the price, but it's lasted me about 6 months and that's applying it every single time I wash my hair. I've still got just under half of it left as well, such a good investment.

Have you tried any of these products before?
What's your holy grail hair treatment?

Henna Treatment Wax | Hair Product

Natural Classic - Henna Treatment Wax

When I sit and think of all the things my hair has been through, I feel quite bad!
It's been though so much... drying, dying, curling, straightening, back combing, treatments, different weather conditions & I don't have it cut as often as I should.
It's about time that I started looking after my hair, the poor thing!
When I were researching last week for good hair treatments. Henna Wax was one of the most popular with quite a lot of positive reviews. So I thought I'd give it a whirl.
Natural Classic Henna Treatment Wax revitalises all types of hair particularly hair which has been damaged by bleaching (sob, sob) perming or tinting (had my fair share of that too).

How I apply mine:
1. I wash my hair thoroughly with shampoo
2. With my hands/fingers I massage the treatment through my hair mainly on the tips, but it does say to apply on the scalp too. I don't really follow that part *tut tut*
3. I cover my hair with tinfoil. It isn't attractive in anyway and kind of looks like a tin swimming cap, but it does the job! As the treatment works best when hair is warm :)
4. Depending on your hair it's up to you how long you leave it on for. On the tub it states between 15-30 minutes. I leave mine on for an hour.
5. Rinse out the treatment and apply some of your daily conditioner to make it smell and feel super soft.

Now I do this once or twice a week if I get chance and it really does work wonders.
When I don't get chance to sit about with my tin foil swimming cap on I just apply my Moroccan Oil after I've towel dried my hair, it smells delicious that stuff.

I only paid 99p for this in BodyCare and you get 20% free!!!
Would I repurchase? Of course!
Have you tried a henna treatment before?
