REVLON LIPSTICK IN CARNIVAL SPIRIT

When I looked down the clear lid the lipstick looked like the MUST have orange lipstick for my holiday, boy was I wrong! I was so disappointed when I swatched this lipstick as I didn't realise it was more like a lip tint than a lipstick. I wanted something similar to the MAC lipstick in Morange.

Carnival Spirit is one of Revlons 'Super Lustrous' lipsticks, which I didn't know at the time! That will teach me for just picking things up from random counters, in random places. The Super Lustrous lipsticks look like they would be super pigmented, but they aren't really and they do apply sheer. The swatch above was swatched back and forth quite a few times for that pigmentation to show, if you like your lips with a hint of colour you may love this lipstick. Now I have quite dark lips so lip tints aren't really something I ever reach out for as they don't do me any justice what so ever. This is what happens when I don't look at swatches before I buy. The lipstick isn't very long lasting on the lips either, one swig of a drink and it's off. I would of loved this lipstick in a matte finish, just imagine how gorgeous the lipstick would be.

Overall Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks aren't really my cup of tea, but you may have a different opinion if you like this type of finish. It's such a pretty shade when applied over and over again. I wouldn't buy another in this finish anyway and it's taught me to look at the label before I buy ha! What's your favourite finish?

Revlon - Nude Attitude

I must be on a hunt for my all time favourite lipstick or something, as all I seem to be buying at the minute is lipsticks! So I picked up this Revlon lipstick in Superdrug, this one is in Nude Attitude 001. I'm usually the biggest fan of nude lipsticks and glosses, but this one completely washes me out if worn alone.

It's more on the peachy nude side rather than pink, to me it has a blue undertone, which you can just about see in the pictures above and when worn it shines through the lipstick. It is rumoured to be a good dupe of the MAC lipstick in Myth, which I've also heard washes a lot of people out too. Then again I wouldn't know as I've never tried Myth before. Have you?

Nude Attitude is a matte finish. The lipstick didn't pull as such, but it did sink into any cracks or dry patches on my lips that I didn't even know I had. The only way to get wear out of this lipstick is to apply a layer of gloss/balm over the top. Now we're talking! I really like the look of this lipstick with gloss on top. The only problem is that the lipstick goes blotchy and you loose the pigmentation of the lipstick really fast. The pigmentation isn't that great to start with, you do have to layer it up but that could have something to do with it being so nude. I was also disappointed in the staying power, I had to keep topping up every hour or so. Would I purchase again? Probably not no.

Has anyone else tried this lipstick?
I usually love the ones from Revlon but this one just didn't impress me at all.

Revlon Colour Rush Balm - Give Me A Cuddle Review.

I basically bought this product on a whim. I was never into the Revlon lip butters, Bourjois colour boost lip crayons or the clinique chubby sticks. In fact this is my first lip balm that I've bought in a long time! I think the only thing close to this that I own is the Jelly Pong Pong lip crayon that came free in one of my Glossy boxes. *hides face in shame*

You can buy the Revlon colour rush balm's in 7 different shades. I went for 'Give Me A Cuddle' how cute is that name? I'm a sucker for a good name. Nothing bugs me more than just a number. Give Me A Cuddle is a pale pink balm as you can see in the pictures above. Sorry that there isn't a swatch (fake tan arms doesn't compliment it very well).  The balm is super moisturising, with a great pigmentation to say its a balm and left my lips feeling hydrated all night long. I did re-apply quite a few times, but when do we go out and not have to re-apply our lippies girls? That's something that will never happen, unless you have some kind of cosmetic tattoo done on your lips haha.

I've recently read quite a lot of reviews from beauty bloggers that didn't really rate these balms, but I couldn't fault it and I'll definitely be picking up some new colours. Especially with the summer coming in :) The scent of these crayons smell amazing too! Kinda reminded me of cupcakes or something really sweet.

Purchased from Boots store for just £5.99

Have you tried any of the Revlon Colour Rush Balms before?
What did you think if so?

Revlon - Black Cherry.

I'm pretty sure we all know about Revlon and their lovely make-up range. Well quite a few months back I picked up one of their lipsticks in 'Black Cherry' as a lot of people were comparing it to one of the MAC lipsticks in 'Dark Side' and even one of Tom Fords lipsticks. Now I must of been having one of those days when you feel a little more daring than most days. As I'm usually a nude/peach type of girl (talk about going out of my comfort zone). The only time I do wear a dark lipstick is on a big night out or a special occasion and saying that it's only a deep red.

Now if you're looking for a statement lipstick then this may be the one for you. The lipstick does cost £7.49 which isn't that pricey. For a lipstick that goes on smoothly and is quite moisturising anyway. The longevity of this lipstick isn't amazing, but it does look nice applied lightly as a lip stain with a bit of gloss applied over the top (if you don't want it to look to heavy). I like the fact that the lipstick has no odour to it and that the packing is very sleek. Especially the clear tops, making the specific shades easier to find.

Here is a swatch of the lipstick.

As you can see the shade is a deep plum/berry. It does look a little darker on my lips when its just applied as a lipstick, nothing else.

Overall this lipstick is a gorgeous shade and I love the look of it on others, but it just isn't for me. It doesn't really suit my skin tone and kind of washes me out. I've worn it a few times and wish I didn't bother. I'm sure it will come in good use next Halloween or something though haha.

Have you tried Revlon lipsticks before?
Do deep shades put you off too sometimes?

revlon - nearly naked.

So I recently purchased the Revlon - Nearly Naked liquid foundation.
I got the product from a Boot's drugstore for just £8.99
In shade - 170 natural beige.

So I decided to try out this foundation as a lot of beauty bloggers had raved about this foundation and was comparing it to the NARS - Sheer Glow. As I've been unhappy with the foundation I've been using recently I thought ahh what the heck. I'll never be happy if I don't try out some new ones.

I'm a girl that LOVES/NEEDS full coverage!
This foundation so a light/medium coverage in my eyes.
When I get spots (pimples) I easily scar or receive darker blemishes on my skin from them. So I need something that's going to cover up those horrible marks.

This was a disappointment to see there was no pump on the foundation. I find these kind of foundation's really messy and you waste so much of the product when it accidentally fall's out.

Here's a swatch above of the foundation and then to the left hand side of the blob is the foundation blended in.
This foundation doesn't suit me at all. It matches my skin tone but I think I should of looked further into the product before buying it. I would recommend this product to someone who has clear skin or very little blemishes and discolouration on their face. As it is really light and does look 'NEARLY NAKED' I don't know why I didn't realise this, especially with the name haha!

Have you tried this product? I've heard really good reviews about the Revlon - Wake me up foundation too, has anyone tried it?
What do you use that has full coverage? I'm using the L'Oreal Infallible at the moment but I picked up the wrong shade, the coverage is brilliant and feel's really light on your face.
