DIRECT COSMETICS HAUL.

DIRECT COSMETICS HAUL.

Direct Cosmetics is an online website that basically stocks items for a lot cheaper than your retail prices. Everybody loves a good old bargain right? Well, recently I was given chance to pick out some of my favourite items from their online website. How exciting?! Now I hadn't really heard of the Direct Cosmetics website before. So I was over the moon when the contacted me as I love websites like these. When I had told my friends and family about this website they did question whether the items was actually genuine, but I couldn't fault them in any way, shape or form as all the products I received was top quality and I had no concerns with the items being fakes etc. So where do I start?

Loreal Lash Architect | Waterproof Mascara - £4.89
Anyone that has read my blog for a while will know that this mascara is my go to mascara... 100%! So when I saw the waterproof version online I thought I'm adding that to my basket for sure. Especially with the warmer months cropping up, nobody likes that mascara dribble under or above the eyes do they? This mascara is great for adding volume and thickness, the brush is perfect too! I can't stand those horrible hard combs that come with some mascaras.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer | Bronzer - £2.99
Here is another staple in my everyday make up routine. I've used Rimmel bronzers for such a long time as I refuse to pay 20 odd pound for one bronzer as I go through them too quickly. Hello bronze goddess (one can dream) ha! I got this bronzer in the shade 001 Sun Kiss, which is quite a nice colour for when my skin is more tanned. So it's going to be pair perfectly with my skin tone throughout the Summer, whether my tan is real or fake. Does anyone else go through bronzers like me? I don't know where they go, honestly.

Clinque chubby stick | Tinted Lip Balm - £3.99
I never fell into the blogger hype last year with all the chubby sticks. So when I saw this online for just £3.99 I just couldn't refuse. I decided to get this lip product in the shade voluptious violet, as I think it will pair perfectly with my berry lip liners, especially on those days when I don't want to wear a lipstick on top. Now I'm not usually the biggest fan of balms, but I couldn't really fault this one as it's ultra-hydrating formula left my lips looking and feeling amazing. So for those people out there that do appreciate a good old balm, I think you'd love these if you haven't tried them already.

Beyonce Pulse | Perfume 50ml - £5.99
Can you believe that you can buy a perfume for just £5.99? That's 50ml bottles as well. Now I'm not usually a fan of 'celebrity fragrance', but I had a quick scout online at some reviews before I selected this one. This perfume is the perfect scent for the warmer months, now I don't know it it's the musk mixed with the jasmine or the vanilla mixed with the pear. Who knows? It's a gorgeous scent anyway that makes me feel like an hawaiian babe. Kind of reminds me of a suncream scent without the coconut. I honestly haven't stopped wearing it since I got it. It's the perfect price to repurchase and something you can wear with confidence everyday.

Elizabeth Arden Hydrating Mask | Face Mask 100ml - £6.99
I couldn't wait to try this one. I've always loved the 8 hour cream from Elizabeth Arden, so I knew this was going to be good, or so I hoped. Basically all you have to do is apply the face to mask to a clean face and rub gently into the skin, leave the mask on for 5-10 minutes and wipe away. I find that heating up a hot muslin cloth and wiping off the mask is a lot better than using anything else. This product left my skin feeling nice and hydrated throughout the day.

Nicole by O.P.I | Nail Polishes - £1.99
These nail polishes were a great bargain at just £1.99 each, I've browsed this range in Superdrug many of times and refused to pay £7.99 as I hadn't tested any of them from this range before. So I got two polishes by Nicole - O.P.I. One in the colour Girl Talk, which is the nail polish on the left and it's the prettiest brown shade that I own. I nearly bought one from Essie that was really similar to this, so I'm glad I didn't. I then decided to go for a coral colour with it being Spring, you know, get me in the spirit and all that. This one is called Reach Out and this one isn't as full coverage like the Girl Talk, it goes on the nail kinda sheer I only tried this polish with two coats though, so maybe with a couple more layers it would turn out better?

All in all these products should of cost me a whopping £98.13. So it was such a bargain as I got all of these items for less than £30. How awesome is that? I'm all about saving money and I'll definitely be checking for bargains on their website the next time I'm after something new.

Have you shopped with Direct Cosmetics before?

L'Oreal Paris - Lumi Magique | Beauty

L'Oreal Paris - Lumi Magique - Pure Light Primer

As you all know I LOVE my L'Oreal!
So here is one of my recent purchases that I included in one of my posts to show you what I'd been spending on lately. Now as you can see in the picture above it's a pretty pearlescent colour, which is kind of like a liquid but a little thicker.
Now when I mentioned this product previously I didn't really rate it at all, in fact I thought it was a waste! Well... when I had tried it before I was using it as a primer/base to my foundation. Although I found that it left my skin feeling silky soft and made my foundation a lot more blend able, making it easier for me to apply my make up. I found that the longevity of the product didn't seem any different to usual and I found that you lost the luminous effect so it kind of defeated it's own purpose in my eyes.

Now my opinion has totally changed towards the product and I really like it.
When using a few drops of the Lumi Magique mixed with foundation it has a total different effect. It makes the skin have the prettiest sheen/glow to it. If you're like me and you love your glowy products, give it a go! Honestly you won't regret it. (Nobody will think that your glow came from a bottle). I've also heard that it's really good to use as a highlighter, now I don't know about that just yet as I haven't tried it, but I'll have to give it a whirl this week. I hope it's just as good for that too as I've read quite a lot of reviews from people that have just bought the product for that particular reason.

So just to clarify I don't rate the product as a primer, but find that it's really good as a illuminator :)
You can purchase this from your local Superdrug or Boots drugstore and if you don't have one then check out their websites online.
Retailed at £9.99

Have you tried this product yet?

Collection - Work The Colour - Eyeshadow Pencil | Beauty Review

When it comes to highlighters or any thing similar I'm like a magpie and have to purchase it (I nearly wrote steal then) thinking about what magpies do with silver haha!
Now you probably all know Collection for their Lasting Perfection - Concealer which we all love just a tad too much. Well when I was mooching around Superdrug the other day I came across the 'Collection - Work The Shadow - Eyeshadow Pencil'  I didn't really know what I would think to an eyeshadow in a stick or in fact the texture of it as I quite like my powders. Plain Jane sometimes, I know! But there seems to be quite a lot of eyeshadow pencil's about at the moment so I thought I would try one out. I must admit this shade caught my eye the most, it's called Vanilla Sky. I'd label it as quite a light champagne colour.
I apply mine in the inner corners of my eyes and sometimes as a base all over my lid.
Now I didn't actually realise that this was waterproof until I tried to rub my swatch after it had been on about 20-30 seconds and it wouldn't budge.
Kind of gave myself an Indian burn!
I was wondering why it was actually staying put all day. Now they are really easy to blend in, but you do need to be quite quick as I say after so long they won't move a muscle.
This may have to be another one of my favourites from the Collection range. I can't stop reaching for it in a morning and the longevity is so so good!

Collections - Work The Shadow sticks come in 6 different shades and are only retailed at £2.50.
You can pick these up in a Superdrug drugstore or online on their website.

Have you tried any of these yet?
Or something similar?

Just a little update as I'm so excited! My mum and dad have surprised me with a little get away to Tunisia in 13 days. We are staying in one of the nicest hotels I've ever seen and I cannot wait to take advantage of the spa and all their treatments. I'm quite nervous about flying this time as it's been quite sometime since I last went on a aeroplane, but I'm so looking forward to it and the all inclusive food of course.

Real Techniques.

Blush and Shading Brush

I got these two brushes from Boots online with the buy one get second half price offer.
So I've added two more Real Techniques brushes to my collection, yayyyy!
It's finally getting bigger and becoming more useful.
* little victory dance *

I decided to purchase The Blush brush which is retailed at £9.99. As I've been in need of a new blusher brush for quite some time now. My old one became very stiff and yucky after months and months of use and everyday wear. I suppose it was just knackered!
Now I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on this brush particular around the size of it. I find it the perfect size as its quite pointed, but it's tapered at the top so you don't ever apply too much product. When I've used this recently I've been told that my bronzer or blush looks flawless. Woooo! Everyone loves a compliment from time to time :)
So you can use it for powder, bronzer or blusher which is a bonus. Although I haven't tried to contour with it yet as I find the Benefit brush my favourite at the minute for that. You know the one you get in your little box of blush/bronzer?

I also purchased The Shading brush which is retailed at £7.99. I lost quite a lot of my eyeshadow brushes I don't know how or where but they have gone :( So I'm slowly trying to bring them back but also upgrading them as my old ones weren't the greatest either. I already have this amazing brush that I use for blending and I don't know the make or where I got it from and its slowly falling to pieces. Hate it when things like that happen. It's always that item that you can't remember where you purchased it as it's too old or the names rubbed off it. Anyway this one is perfect size to apply eyeshadow all over the lid, in the crease, the outer V of your eye and close to the lash line. You can use it to blend as it's quite soft and make's blending really easy.

My next brush purchase is going to be the Mac 217 seen as though everyone and their nan and their nan's cat's have it. Especially on YouTube it seems to be everyone's holy grail eyeshadow brush.

I find the Real Techniques brushes are easily to clean which I do twice a week they clean up easy and dry quite quick compared to other brushes I've used before. Being able to use powder or cream products with these brushes is brilliant too.

Have you tried these two brushes?

MUA Pro Base Eye Primer - Review.

Make Up Academy - Pro Base - Eye Primer

Everyone hates it when they go out the house looking/feeling fab and then a few hours later they look at themselves in the mirror... to find the make-up they applied this morning appears to have disappeared.
I am always on the look out for new products to try out which may help my make-up stay put for longer.
When I noticed this MUA eye primer for a bargain price of £2.50 for 7.5ml, how can you not try it out for that price?
I thought that the packaging is quite sturdy but look's a little bit cheap. To apply the eye primer the product comes with a wand to apply (kind of like the collection concealer) we all know what that looks like don't we? When applying it does look like a concealer but blends in quite well and absorbs quite fast as well.
I applied one eye without the product and one eye with it. I found that the primer gave my eyeshadow a bit more of a pop! So the eyeshadow looked more vibrant than usual. but I didn't think it made my eyeshadow stay put any longer than it usually does.

So all in all really I don't feel like I rate this product that much but I'm going to try it for a full week as I feel like I had a bad make-up day yesterday when trying this out.

Have you tried this product before?
Is there any good eye primers out there?

Mary-Lou Manizer aka 'The Luminizer'

The Balm - Mary Lou Manizer
I've finally got my hands on it... yaaaayyyy!

This is my first cosmetic that I've purchased from the brand 'The Balm' I've heard so many good reviews about them and this particular product in particular. Especially on YouTube a lot of beauty Tuber's swear by this stuff and I always see it being used in most of their videos uploaded.
So 'Mary-Lou Manizer' is a highlighter, shimmer and eyeshadow.
The MUA highlighter I have tends to appear a bit silvery resulting in my cheeks looking a bit grey? Not the best look! I find this highlighter a champagne colour that has a golden sheen to it so it's so much better. It adds a golden glow to the skin. I don't think I'll hit pan on this one for a very long time as a little goes a long way. It's so silky and easy to apply. I use this on my cheek's, cupid's bow, bridge of my nose, inner corner of my eyes and under my brows. Just sprinkle a bit of it everywhere!

I purchased mine online from
£12.00 as it was on sale with free delivery.

Have you tried this product before?
Or do you own anything from 'The Balm'?

Sleek - Face Form

Sleek - Face Form
Contouring and blush palette

So those of you who read my blog will know that in my recent haul my new Sleek blusher was broken!
*tut tut*
Well I went into Superdrug today and came across this palette which included the Rose Gold blush... Yippee!
I obviously had to open it in store to make sure it was all in tack (naughty me).
I'm trying to get into contouring which involves me watching and reading so many YouTube channels/Beauty blogs. I'm kind of getting the hang of it now though, halleluiah!
Everyone loves the Sleek design as it's quite similar to NARS. Fingers crossed mine stays in place this time though! Watch out for the fingerprints on the casing though. I'm not that OCD but for those of you that are. It marks easily!
So in this palette you get a highlighter, blush and bronzer. Quite alright for us starters I'd say. I went for this in Light 373 pretty much because it had the blusher in ha ha. Everyone knows how amazing the blusher is I don't think I'll need to go into too much detail it's a rosy blush with gold undertones and it's THEE BEST. The bronzer is quite surprisingly nice as well I thought it might be too light for my skin tone but it's not and it's buildable too. The highlighter is such a nice shade it's quite light with a hint of peach to it, not much but just enough :)
This product was only £10.00
Would I repurchase? Yes!
Am I happy with my purchase? 100%

Do you own any of the Sleek palettes? Or have you already got your hands on this one?
Let me know what you think.
Also wondering what brushes would be good to go with this palette?

Too many questions! I'll shut up now :D

revlon - nearly naked.

So I recently purchased the Revlon - Nearly Naked liquid foundation.
I got the product from a Boot's drugstore for just £8.99
In shade - 170 natural beige.

So I decided to try out this foundation as a lot of beauty bloggers had raved about this foundation and was comparing it to the NARS - Sheer Glow. As I've been unhappy with the foundation I've been using recently I thought ahh what the heck. I'll never be happy if I don't try out some new ones.

I'm a girl that LOVES/NEEDS full coverage!
This foundation so a light/medium coverage in my eyes.
When I get spots (pimples) I easily scar or receive darker blemishes on my skin from them. So I need something that's going to cover up those horrible marks.

This was a disappointment to see there was no pump on the foundation. I find these kind of foundation's really messy and you waste so much of the product when it accidentally fall's out.

Here's a swatch above of the foundation and then to the left hand side of the blob is the foundation blended in.
This foundation doesn't suit me at all. It matches my skin tone but I think I should of looked further into the product before buying it. I would recommend this product to someone who has clear skin or very little blemishes and discolouration on their face. As it is really light and does look 'NEARLY NAKED' I don't know why I didn't realise this, especially with the name haha!

Have you tried this product? I've heard really good reviews about the Revlon - Wake me up foundation too, has anyone tried it?
What do you use that has full coverage? I'm using the L'Oreal Infallible at the moment but I picked up the wrong shade, the coverage is brilliant and feel's really light on your face.

POUT PAINT.

by sleek
How cute are these little lip stains?
They're long lasting, highly pigmented and to make them more fun...
you can mix them with other pout paint tubes!
How cool is that?

I never really go for the lip stains as I don't really rate them, but these are so good!
You can purchase them in Superdrug for just £4.99 each.

here is my swatch of the lipstains.
There's so many more than you can choose from though, if these aren't really your cup of tea.
the nude one is my favourite, I'm loving my nude lips at the minute.
Another good thing about these little tubes is that you only have to add a tiny amount to your lips. As it easily spreads & they are long lasting too!
You can use your finger for a quick & easy application or apply with a lip brush for a better look.

this is 161 minx
It's a peachy/nude and is perfect for everyday use
or if you were going for bold eyes on a night out I'd recommend wearing this.

this is 154 Mauve Over
it's quite a vibrant pink/purple, kind of a statment lipstain.
would be nice to mix this with the white pout paint tube to make it more everyday.

Have you tried any of the Sleek lipstains yet?

my beauty wishlist.

I probably have the longest beauty wishlist know to man kind, but I thought I'd share with you my MUST have items this summer.

Burberry Body - Perfume

This is my MUST have fragrance this summer! I recieved a sample of this perfume in one of my Glossybox's and was complimented everytime I wore it. Have a sniff of this beauty if you haven't already.

Mac Studio Fix - Foundation

I really want to try this foundation, I've tried the one in the tube before and hated it. So to be honest it did put me off their foundations all together. I have seen that a lot of people use this one though, so I'm wanting to give it a try.

Real Techniques Make-Up Brushes

I'm in desperate need of some new make-up brushes & really like the look of these every time I go in Superdrug. Does anyone use these?

Mac Refill Eyeshadows & Pan

This is possibly the one thing that I want the most out of them all. I also have a £30 gift voucher to spend in Mac *eeeek* so I thought I'd spend it on the eyeshadow refil pan and get my first few eyeshadows to put in it. I really like the look of rice paper, dazzle light, gesso, wedge brown & expresso.

Urban Decay - Naked Eyeshadow Palette

This palette seems to be a lot of Bloggers favourite. If it's so highly rated on these beauty blogs... I NEED it! :) I love the colours it's well up my street. I'm not really one for big bright eyes in all honesty, so this would work perfect for me.

YSL - Lipstick

This lipstick is amazing! From it's classy design to it's long lasting wear. The only problem is I don't know which colour to go for! There is so much choice with this brand. I do really like their coral's, nude's & red's though.

Has anyone tried any of these little beauty's before?
If so what did you think to them?
Or if there's anything similar that you recommend let me know :)

Hope you're all ok anyway :)
& having a lovely weekend.

peekaboo.

Heyup cheekies!
So I've seen and read a lot of posts on here about 'what's in my make-up bag'
I'm always one of the last to jump on the band wagon.

A Pug make-up bag of course!
This was a present from my little brothers at Christmas
I believe it's from Next not too sure how much it was though.

So this is what I carry with me in my bag on a daily basis.
No wonder my bag is always so heavy! :o
I suppose I always think well you never know when you may need a touch up or if you end up staying over somewhere, I'd hate to be without my 2nd face.

From the left to the right:
(missing out the make-up brush)
as I can't remember where I got this or the price.

1. L'OREAL Paris mascara - Lash Architect - Midnight black
£12.99  Purchased from Boots drug store.
2. Rimmel London - Eyebrow pencil - 001 Dark brown
£2.99 from Boots but you'd be able to pick one up in most drug stores.
3. L'OREAL Paris infallible foundation - 260 golden sun
£12.99
4. Witch naturally clear - blemish stick
£2.89 this was also purchased from Boots drug store.
It's reall good for fresh spots, takes away the swelling etc. I've only just starting using this product this week as well, I'm quite impressed.
5. MeMeMe beat the blues - highlighter
I didn't buy this it came within a GLOSSYBOX.
But I love it! I apply it under my brow arch and in the corners of my eyes on a big night out.
6. Love me, love me not - Double sided mirror
I picked this up from Claire's Accssories - £4.50
It's so cute.
7. (The Pink Blusher) GLOSSYBOX Blusher - Glossy rosewood
again this was sent in a GLOSSYBOX - such a nice colour to add to your cheek bones for the Spring/Summer.
8. Rimmel Natural Bronzer - 021 Sunlight - I don't really use any other bronzer's other than Rimmel and the very odd occassion I will treat myself to Benefit.
I got this from Boots - £5.59

What do you keep in with you on a daily basis?
Are you as bad as me?

Ok stop been nosey now!
I've just tanned myself with St. Tropez Bronzing Gel
I have no idea why I didn't do this last night as I've gotta walk round all day now looking like a wotsit! D: waaaah.
I hate how the lotion goes on it always looks so streaky, but it has the best results tan wise once I've had a shower and got all the mucky bits off. I'd say this is the only tan that doesn't smell like Hobnob biscuits too, BONUS!

I'm really looking forward to going out tomorrow night.
I hope y'all have a lovely weekend anyway.

spring fever.

Afternoon bloggers
hope all is well
so I thought I'd do a quick blog on my April GLOSSYBOX.
one of my favourite parcels I recieve every month.

It's always exciting when there's a knock on the door from the postman especially when he has my
GLOSSYBOX.

So this month GLOSSYBOX teamed up with Pearl Lowe (waaah, so jealous) and created a vintage beauty box. The box itself was beautiful never mind the little treats inside.

NIP + FAB

dry skin fix body butter in pistachio sundae.
this little beauty smells delish!
and has left my skin feeling super smooth.

just apply to your skin after showering or bathing.

full size is 200ml for £9.95
www.nipandfab.com
ILLAMASQUA

medium pencil

this is gorgeous and really works wonders.
you can apply the pencil to your eyes, lips and brows.
i recieved the colour - spell 1B1
it's an reddy coral colour which i was happy with as I've just purchased a new coral lippy for the summer :)

£13.00
www.illamasqua.com

CRABTREE & EVELYN
somerset meadow hand therapy

I love the design of this product, it's so me.
I don't normally use hand products to be honest but when you recieve them your going to try them. I must admit that this is really good I usually hate the feeling of a cloggy moisturizer on my hands but this didn't feel like that just left my hands feeling soft with a light fragrance, very satisfied indeed.

full size 100g - £14.00

ESSIE

nail polish - bikini so teeny

I haven't tested this product yet but I adore the colour it's sort of like a sky blue/light lilac mix. I just hope that it doesn't chip easily or peel as this easily annoys me with nail polishes.

£7.99
you can purchase from both drug stores.

YVES ROCHER FRANCE
so elixir purplee yves rocher eau de parfum

intoxicating & magnetic perfume
this has to be my favourite product of the box
it smells gorgeous!

apply to your inner wrists, elbows, under the ear lobe & on the neck.

full size 50ml - £44.00

So overall I think this GlOSSYBOX has been one of the best that they have done. It's design is super cute
& I've loved all of the products that came inside it.

nail me.

Evening bloggers!
how the hell are you?
well I've had a quiet weekend this weekend Zzz! I know -_-
I went to see the new film with Tom Cruise in it 'Oblivion' little did I know that it was a 'Sci-Fi' totally not my thing at all. Call me dumb but I still came out of the cinema clueless of the story line.

Anyway...
I thought I'd write a little blog about my favourite nail polishes at the moment.

Number 1.
Has to be Barry M - Silvery Lilac 324
you can purchase these from your local beauty stores
superdrug/boots etc.
It's a kind of galaxy colour.

Number 2.
Chine Glaze - Frostbite
I got this one and the one below from my local hair salon Sallys.
A little bit more expensive than your usual polishes but they last a lot longer and don't chip as easy.
This is quite a bold colour, probably not everyone's taste.

Number 3.
China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover
Purchased from Sallys.
I must have wore this colour most out of all my polishes.
I love green!

Number 4.
Models Own - Juicy Jules
I purchased this polish from Boots.
This looks awesome on its own (takes quite a few layers) or over the top of other colours.
I must admit it is a nightmare to get off your nails! that's my only down point about it.
I was surprised that I liked it to be honest I'm not really a fan of glitter and girly girl things.

Number 5.
China Glaze - Peachy Keen
This was also purchased from Sally's as mentioned above ^
Perfect for Spring/Summer.
I've only just realised that 3 out of 5 of my fave's are China Glaze :o
I think it's due to the fact that they don't chip so easy or peel off & the bottles are bigger so they last even longer!
:)

This has to be my all time favourite nail tool!
I don't actually know what they're called I just referrer to them as my 'dotting tools'
I got them off eBay :)
Only cost me £1.99 too.
I adore polkadots and these tools make them so easy to do!

this weekend.

hey everyone!

I have to share with you some of my fave buys this month. Like this cut out midi dress from
it was only £24.99 too.
I chose khaki as it is one of my favourite colours at the minute, was quite surprised how nice it looked on too. I also wore my boots from missguided, love these boots they're so comfy and make me feel & look quite tall! I'm only 5ft3 :( wahh shorty!

I also added this bangle in with the dress and boots. It caught my eye straight away. Quite a brassy gold with pearl balls, so cute! I love these little vintage bangles.

This was from H&M
£4.99

So it was the
'Grand National' this weekend and to be honest it's never really interested me before, but I noticed a lot of my friends were taking part so I thought I would have a go. I chose 3 horses and only one of them came in 2nd place so I didn't really win much but it was so  much fun! :) The weather was lovely yesterday.. Its awesome how a bit of sunshine can change you mood instantly. Today I'm just going to chill in my slobby clothes, light my yankee candles, watch films & eat lots of naughty food!

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend!
