MAKEUP GEEK EYESHADOWS; SHIMMA SHIMMA, FRAPPE, COCOA BEAR, BITTEN & BURLESQUE.

MAKEUP GEEK EYESHADOWS; SHIMMA SHIMMA, FRAPPE, COCOA BEAR, BITTEN & BURLESQUE.

Makeup Geek is an American make up brand owned by one of the famous YouTubers' Marlena | you can follow her channel here.. On her YouTube channel she often shares videos of make up loos she's created, tutorials on how to blend eyeshadows, sneak peaks at the new products and a lot more. She seems like such a lovely lady and a very successful one at that. When I found out that BeautyBay was stocking their products I was over the moon and couldn't wait to purchase some of their eyeshadows. Although I did have to wait a few weeks for them to come back in stock as they sold out so quickly. BeautyBay restock the Makeup Geek products every couple of weeks, so you have to be quick when they get restocked. I was like a kid at Christmas waiting for these to be delivered as they've been raved about so much on YouTube and are often compared to the Mac Cosmetics eyeshadows. These eyeshadows are out of this world and I can't believe the quality of them for the price. Each of these eyeshadows are just £4.95 a shadow and they come in pan form.

SHIMMA SHIMMA
Shimma Shimma is described as a metallic champagne and it certainly is. I've been applying this one to the inner corner of my eye (without irritation) and it looks great when used as a highlighter on the rest of the face too. This is one of my favourite eyeshadows that I've purchased and it's taken over my last favourite, which was Mac - Nylon. This eyeshadow is super pigmented and so buttery. There's nothing worse than chalky eyeshadows.

FRAPPE
Frappe is a matte warm medium brown shade that is a beautiful for an everyday transition shade. I really like this shade. The pigmentation is good and the product is creamy, but it's no Cocoa Bear. Although they look quite alike in the swatches above, Frappe is a lot lighter than Cocoa Bear and you do have to layer this one up for a more intense colour pay off. I like to use Frappe in the crease of the eye and then I go in with Cocoa Bear.

COCOA BEAR
Cocoa Bear is a matte warm toned red brown. This is my all favourite out of the eyeshadows that I bought. I like to use Cocoa Bear as a transition shade when I want to do a smokey eye or give them that extra definition to make the eyes look more intense and warm them up a little. This eyeshadow is again very pigmented and creamy, such good quality for the money. Cocoa Bear was so hard to get hold of, it went out of stock twice before I could order it! It's just one of those must have eyeshadows, I honestly don't know what I'd do without it now.

BITTEN
Bitten is a matte brown red shade so if you're looking for the perfect matte burgundy eyeshadow?! Look no further! You will love and need this one within your eyeshadow palette. Bitten has great colour pay off and it is the perfect shade for fall. I've fallen in love with the colour of this one so much. I can't wait to create a a vampy eye with this one. This one was also hard to get hold of so if it's in stock go, go, go!

BURLESQUE
Burlesque is very similar in colour to Bitten, although it is a little darker. Is more of a purple, burgundy, brown? And it has a satin/metallic finish. This shade is going to get used a hell of a lot throughout the Christmas period. Can I rock a dark smokey eye all day err'day? This looks gorgeous all over the lid paired with a nice matte black to create a gorgeous smokey eye, don't forget to add some winged liner though. You can see just how pigmented it is on the swatch above, in fact you can see just how great they all are.

I can't wait to create an eye look for you with some of these eyeshadows and I've already got a list of other eyeshadow shades that I want to purchase from MUG. They do a great black called Corrupt that appears to be the darkest black matte shadow I've ever seen. I can't wait to purchase some more already!

Also if you wish to use these in your Mac Cosmetics palette you'll need to purchase some magnets, you can get them really cheap off eBay or Amazon.

MAC Eyeshadows - Nylon & Vanilla.

A while back I purchased some new eyeshadows for my MAC palette. I decided to go for Vanilla and Nylon as I needed some lighter shades in my palette, although the pictures don't do much justice for these eyeshadows. Let me just tell you, in the words of Bruce Nolan (Bruce Almighty) they are B-E-A-UTIFUL! and a staple in everyone's MAC palette. I could do with some medium/darker shades to blend in the crease now. Does anyone recommend any? Preferably on the neutral side of shadows. You can't beat a new MAC eyeshadow! They just seem to glide and blend so easily on the eye compared to other eyeshadows I've tested.

Vanilla

Finish: Velvet
Colour: An off white, kind of like an Ivory
Works best:Inner corner of the eyes, base, brow bone and crease.
This is just one of those staple eyeshadows that everyone needs in their MAC palette!
I love using this eyeshadow in the inner corners of my eyes, under my brow bone and as a base on my lid. I even apply this all over the lid sometimes before applying the shade I'm going to wear, just to brighten it up a little.
Although it appears to have a tiny sparkle in the pan the eyeshadow does apply as a matte. I use this eyeshadow everyday without a doubt. I'm getting pretty close to hitting pan already!

Nylon

Finish: Frost
Colour: Pale gold with an icy shimmer in it (when applied to myself it is a lot lighter than it appears in the pan)
Works best: In the inner corners of the eye and on the brow bone to define that brow!
This eyeshadow is super shimmery! It works great as a highlighter, but I wouldn't advise wearing it on the base/lid, unless if you can make it work. Unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to pull it off, but it does look amazing in the inner tear duct area. I love wearing this especially on nights out. It adds great effects to a dramatic eye look.

These eyeshadows are just £10.00 each, which isn't that bad considering how good they are. You can also purchase these shades in pot form if you don't have a palette for just £12.50. I purchased mine online - www.maccosmetics.co.uk

Do you own any of these eyeshadows?
What's your all time favourite MAC eyeshadow?
TOUGH ONE! :o

MAC; Naked Lunch, Woodwinked & Charcoal Brown

Oot Ohh!
I've been ordering from that dreading place called MAC again, oops.
I did need some more seen as though I don't have many & I really enjoyed my last purchase, it kinder brought me back for more.
What I need next is one of their refill palettes. Seen as though the collection is finally starting to grow, yippee!
I've not included a make-up look with these shadows in this post, as I thought I could save that for another day.

Naked Lunch
What type of eyeshadow finish is it? Frost
What shade is it? To me it's a peachy, champagne colour
Would you purchase it again? Definitely!

When I wear this eyeshadow I feel like it makes my eyes look more awake if you get me and I have to have a second glance in the mirror when I walk past. That made me cringe typing that haha! I meant at the eyeshadow itself and not at me of course.

'Naked Lunch' looks so pretty when applied all over the lid of the eye, it applies a light amount of colour and shimmer. You can probably tell in the swatches included in this post.

Woodwinked
What type of eyeshadow finish is it? Velvet pearl
What shade is it? Medium bronze with a mild orange undertone
Would you purchase it again? yes, yes, yes!

I like to pair 'Woodwinked' with a vanilla, or yellow based light shadow. That's if I'm not wearing it all over the lid. Mind you I always change how I wear this one, like today I'm wearing 'Naked Lunch' with 'Woodwinked' blended into the crease.

Charcoal Brown
What type of eyeshadow finish is it? matte
What shade is it? A beautiful matte brown ashy colour
Would you purchase it again? couldn't live without it... so that's a yes!

I use this eyeshadow mostly to fill in my eyebrows, it works like a dream. It's the perfect colour for my brows. Previous to this shadow I were using a Rimmel eyebrow pencil, but I felt like it made my eyebrows appear to harsh (like slugs had been drawn on my face). This shadow when applied with a flat brush makes them appear more natural. It also works beautifully as a crease colour, you can build it up to get a darker effect for a more smoky eye look.

Overall I am really happy with my new MAC eyeshadows and the last one's I posted about too. They are all must haves to me and I will repurchase if I ever hit pan (which I hope that's not for a while). I think I've built up some kind of addiction to MAC over the last few weeks. I've already got some more shadows waiting in my favourites/basket ready for my next purchase. I also really like the look of the MAC paint pots, but I haven't tried any before. Are they as good as every makes out to be?

Now I'm in need of some neutral matte eyeshadows as I don't have many in my little collection.
You know for those days where you don't want to wear anything shimmery and you want to tone it down a tad. Matte's always look nice on a your vintage inspired make-up looks too, so I'm desperately after some.
Does anyone know of any must have MAC matte eyeshadows?
Let me know in the comments below please dolls, thank you <3

The questions I answered about each eyeshadow are my own opinion.
You may think different to me, but I go by what colour or shade the eyeshadow is through my own eyes and on my own skin.

mac; rice-paper, all that glitters, shale & coppering

AHHHH HELLO CHEEKIES!
*stranger alert*
I'm so sorry that I've been lacking in blog posts recently, I feel like I haven't had a minute. You know those times when you wish you were more organised with your blog posts (have some saved up front) yeah exactly!

So at the weekend I went shopping with one of my sisters and ended up in...
Duh, Duh, Duuuuuuuuuuuh.
MAC!
As they are my favourite brand for eyeshadows I decided to get some new one's as I hadn't purchased any in store for so long. I opted for the refill eyeshadows at £10.00 per shadow.

Rice-paper: is a really pale sandy/champagne colour that goes with near enough every eyeshadow colour that you probably own. I like to pair mine up with brown or plum shades.
I use Rice-paper as a base on my eye lid or as a highlighter in the inner corner of my eyes or under my brow bone for a subtle highlighting effect. It also has a nice yellow tone frost finish.
I noticed that one of my favourite YouTubers were using this in one of her vintage eye make-up tutorials so I had to get it straight away and I haven't put it down since.

All that glitters: this has got to be my favourite eyeshadow at the moment, it's so, so pretty. I have a feeling that it's going to be my 'go to' eyeshadow for quite some time too as it looks amazing, even when its been applied quickly first thing in a morning.
It is a veluxe pearl finish so it is very shimmery. I would describe this as a peachy/pinky/bronzey colour.

Shale: is described by MAC as a mauve plum with subtle shimmer with a satin finish and I couldn't agree with them more. I find that it makes a really pretty smoky eye with Satin Taupe (one of my old time favourite MAC eyeshadows) or even with a light champagne colour on the crease if you want to keep it light.

Coppering: I just keep dipping my finger into the pan with this one. The shade is just beautiful! The lovely lady in the store helped me pick this one out as it's not something I would ever reach out for as I tend to stick to my neutral's, always! It's a orangey/red/copper shade that would look nice with gold's or browns. It works as a lid, v and crease shade for me and if you have blue eyes they really do recommend this for you as it will make your eyes pop!

What's your favourite MAC eyeshadow shade?
I'm always looking for new ones to try out, but it's hard to get a good match with my green eyes sometimes as they have blue and yellow in them.
I also had a look at the new Rihanna range... yuck!
is it just me that think's the packaging is super tacky? put me off big time.

Collection - Work The Colour - Eyeshadow Pencil | Beauty Review

When it comes to highlighters or any thing similar I'm like a magpie and have to purchase it (I nearly wrote steal then) thinking about what magpies do with silver haha!
Now you probably all know Collection for their Lasting Perfection - Concealer which we all love just a tad too much. Well when I was mooching around Superdrug the other day I came across the 'Collection - Work The Shadow - Eyeshadow Pencil'  I didn't really know what I would think to an eyeshadow in a stick or in fact the texture of it as I quite like my powders. Plain Jane sometimes, I know! But there seems to be quite a lot of eyeshadow pencil's about at the moment so I thought I would try one out. I must admit this shade caught my eye the most, it's called Vanilla Sky. I'd label it as quite a light champagne colour.
I apply mine in the inner corners of my eyes and sometimes as a base all over my lid.
Now I didn't actually realise that this was waterproof until I tried to rub my swatch after it had been on about 20-30 seconds and it wouldn't budge.
Kind of gave myself an Indian burn!
I was wondering why it was actually staying put all day. Now they are really easy to blend in, but you do need to be quite quick as I say after so long they won't move a muscle.
This may have to be another one of my favourites from the Collection range. I can't stop reaching for it in a morning and the longevity is so so good!

Collections - Work The Shadow sticks come in 6 different shades and are only retailed at £2.50.
You can pick these up in a Superdrug drugstore or online on their website.

Have you tried any of these yet?
Or something similar?

Just a little update as I'm so excited! My mum and dad have surprised me with a little get away to Tunisia in 13 days. We are staying in one of the nicest hotels I've ever seen and I cannot wait to take advantage of the spa and all their treatments. I'm quite nervous about flying this time as it's been quite sometime since I last went on a aeroplane, but I'm so looking forward to it and the all inclusive food of course.
:D

MUA.

Howdddy!
Hope you're all fine and dandy!
So my blog today is going to be about one of my favourite May purchases.

As you already know I love the MUA make-up brand that you can purchase from any Superdrug drug store.
If I'm honest I've only ever tried their lipsticks, which I highly recommend you all to try.
But I saw this palette of theirs online and thought I'd give it a try.

MUA - UNDRESS ME TOO PALETTE.
I can't believe this eyeshadow palette was
ONLY £4.00.

The Palette comes with the double ended sponge applicator and has 12 lovely shades from nude to black. Perfect colours to create a natural smokey eye.
Top from left to right: Naked, Devotion, Shy, Fiery, Lavish, Dreamy.
Bottom from left to right: Tranquil, Exposed, Reveal, Wink, Obsessed, Corupt.

I must admit I'm not the best at applying eyeshadows as I've only just started wearing them really. So I'm trying to tackle this blending technique, I have to watch the tutorials on Youtube to help me out so if your anything like me have a look on there.

Step 1. Cover the base of the eyelid with shade Shy with the sponge applicator.
Step 2. Apply Lavish in the crease of the eye to create a pinky browny shade and blend with a blending brush.
Step 3. Patting gently on the eye with Shade Devotion up to about halfway across the eye getting lighter as you work to the inside of the eye.
Step 4. From the outter eye blend Shade Fiery about a third of the eye inwards.
Step 5. Use shade Corrupt (I blew my brush before applying to the eye) and just work it round the corner of the eye and into the crease.
Step 6. With a small slanted firm brush apply shade Corrupt as  you would apply eyeliner to the top and bottom of the eye.

And there you have it a natural smokey eye perfect for an everyday look :)

Excuse my eyebrows they're in need of a serious plucking the little slugs.
I really need to get use to applying eyeshadows I always feel like I've got too much make-up on when I wear it, kinder like a hooker or something but I love seeing other people with it on.

I can't wait to try some more of their eyeshadows and other make-up products now and you can't say no to the price's either as they make their make-up affordable for us all and for good quality too which you don't get often.

What's your favourite eyeshadow brand?
And does anyone know what colour suits green eyes best?
