RED CARPET MAKE UP LOOK.

So todays post is something a little bit different to usual. Within todays post I'm going to be sharing the make up look I'd go for if I was to attend a red carpet event (a girl can dream). So think Golden Globe, Oscars etc.

The celebritie that totally rocks my world with these kind of events is always going to be Cara Delevingne. I absolutely love it when she turns up with a bold statement lip and lets those unruly eyebrows of hers free. She looks the part, yet rock and roll at the same time if you know what I mean? And you know me, I never like to look too tidy haha. Now if I was to choose a celebrities wardrobe for a formal event it would have to be Blake Lively! That girl is just beyond perfect! Her hair, make up, clothes, man ... everything! Although I did love that red dress that Rita Ora turned up in at the Golden Globes. It's just too hard to choose one babe isn't it? There's just too many!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer In NC15

MAC - Pro Longwear Concealer - NC15

I decided to purchase MAC Pro Longwear concealer after watching so many beauty YouTubers featuring it in within their videos online and after reading so many raving reviews about it. I was bound to cave wasn't I? I've been using/testing this product on and off for about a month or so now. I purchased it from Selfridges when I was in London shopping with my sister - that place is amazing! I was in my element.

MAC Pro Longwear concealer is rumoured to be one of 'the best' concealers! I wouldn't go that far! The concealer comes in a glass bottle that has a pump dispenser, which pumps out far too much product. This is super annoying when you only need a tiny bit to work with, there's just no control over the amount of product you'd like to use. I waste so much of this product every time I use it. Make up waste never goes down well with a girl like me *cries inside*.

MAC Pro Longwear concealer is a liquid formula that has quite a thin/runny consistency, which makes it quite easy to apply. This product is medium to full coverage with a matte finish. The coverage to me is more on the full coverage side as I find it quite heavy and a little cakey at times, but that's probably when I've applied too much. My skin is quite dry/dehydrated and I find it really hard to make this concealer work under my eyes. Some days I really like this product and then other days I don't really rate it at all. It depends on how my skin is on the day I suppose. I think it may be that I need something that's a little creamier and hydrating on my skin.

You need to be applying this concealer sparingly and quick, as it dries/stains really quickly and there's no budging it after its set. That's one of the positives about the concealer. It does last a really, really long time on your skin and I think that's why so many people rate it. I've had this concealer on since 7am and it's now 4pm and I haven't had to touch it up at all. Could it be waterproof? Another thing that I was impressed by was that there was no creasing... now that's a first! 

Overall, I have a hate/love relationship with this product. I just wish that the concealer was a little creamier and not as dry on the skin once it has set, but then it probably wouldn't last as long as it does. You can't win can you haha! I'm still on the look out for my holy grail concealer. Please give me some kind of guidance beauty bloggers...

Love Nectar is a gorgeous nude, more of a peachy-pink colour with gold specks of glitter shining through it, not glitter ball glitter - subtle. It has just the right amount of shine, colour and glitter for a natural everyday lip. It's definitely a 'go to' lipgloss and is perfect for all year round. 
So it's great for day to day wear or paired with a dark smoky eye for a night out, especially when worn over a nude lipstick. I went for this lip gloss on impulse, but I'm so glad I did. I wouldn't of gone for this Lustreglass if I was purchasing it online due to the name. You'd of expected something bright and orange wouldn't you? This L'Glass is just beautiful and so up my street. I will definitely be re-purchasing. 

What MAC says - 'Two high-powered effects. Lustre and glass - in one new lip finish. This amazing onramental finish shines the lips with hi-shine overlaid with various tones of pearlized glazed. Beyond sexy. transcends all known shine'. 

I can only agree with MAC on this one!

MAC Lustreglass has a brush applicator making it so much easier to manage and apply the lipgloss. I prefer it to your typical doe foot - sponge applicator, they can be a little stiff sometimes. The consistency of the gloss is thick and sticky, but not gloopy! I find that the consistency makes my lips look fuller than usual and that the stickiness helps the product to last longer on the lips. It does last quite a long time on, so long as you're not eating. The scent of this gloss is vanilla - shock! Which can only mean it smelling super yummy (of course). 

The only down part is how much lipgloss you get for £14.00 - it's not much or maybe I'm greedy? I do go through lip glosses so quickly though. I'm forever topping up as the day goes on. If only it would stay put all day. I blame The Sims for false expectations haha! 

I'll definitely be re-purchasing! MAC you never fail to impress. I have a feeling this lipgloss is going to be in my 2014 favourites...

MAC - Fix +

Let me just start off by saying I will repurchase this until the day that I die. Woah! That was a bit heavy. Sorry haha! If I'm honest I'd never really heard or seen much about the MAC Fix + before. Maybe I've been living under a rock or maybe it's one of those products everybody loves and doesn't want to share with anybody else? Hmme.
I purchased this product in the travel size as I wasn't too sure if I was going to like it or not. The travel size bottle contains 30ml and costs just £6.00 or you can purchase the full size bottle that contains 100ml for £14.50. I don't think that's bad in price at all. Mine has barely budged and I've been using it everyday for about 2 weeks now. As you can see the top has two option one for locking, which is super handy and one for spraying - it does spray even. 

How I use MAC Fix + (after applying my moisturiser).

• Brighten and soften your face - at arms length I spray my face before applying my daily make up.
• Thick foundations or concealers? - Use a bit of Fix + to dilute them down, which will make them easier to apply. I find this works great with the MAC pro longwear concealer. As you'll know it dries very quick and is hard to budge. 
• Set you make up and give it that dewy finish - by spraying again once you've applied all your make up. Don't you just hate that powdery finish some products have? This will add a dewy glow. Making you look super healthy. 
• Pack on loose shadows or pigments - spray your make up brush with Fix + before dipping into the pot and tapping off any excess before applying to your lid. You'll find that it makes the colours you use appear brighter too.
• Keep it close by - pop the little beauty into your handbag and spray away as the day goes on. To make sure your face is looking super fresh and dewy as the hours pass by.

So as you can see you can use this little gem for all sorts. I will definitely be back to buy the full size bottle as soon as I run out. Have you tried Fix + yet? or anythign similar?

MAC Eyeshadows - Nylon & Vanilla.

A while back I purchased some new eyeshadows for my MAC palette. I decided to go for Vanilla and Nylon as I needed some lighter shades in my palette, although the pictures don't do much justice for these eyeshadows. Let me just tell you, in the words of Bruce Nolan (Bruce Almighty) they are B-E-A-UTIFUL! and a staple in everyone's MAC palette. I could do with some medium/darker shades to blend in the crease now. Does anyone recommend any? Preferably on the neutral side of shadows. You can't beat a new MAC eyeshadow! They just seem to glide and blend so easily on the eye compared to other eyeshadows I've tested. 

Vanilla
Finish: Velvet
Colour: An off white, kind of like an Ivory
Works best:Inner corner of the eyes, base, brow bone and crease.
This is just one of those staple eyeshadows that everyone needs in their MAC palette!
I love using this eyeshadow in the inner corners of my eyes, under my brow bone and as a base on my lid. I even apply this all over the lid sometimes before applying the shade I'm going to wear, just to brighten it up a little.
Although it appears to have a tiny sparkle in the pan the eyeshadow does apply as a matte. I use this eyeshadow everyday without a doubt. I'm getting pretty close to hitting pan already! 

Nylon
Finish: Frost
Colour: Pale gold with an icy shimmer in it (when applied to myself it is a lot lighter than it appears in the pan)
Works best: In the inner corners of the eye and on the brow bone to define that brow!
This eyeshadow is super shimmery! It works great as a highlighter, but I wouldn't advise wearing it on the base/lid, unless if you can make it work. Unfortunately I'm not lucky enough to pull it off, but it does look amazing in the inner tear duct area. I love wearing this especially on nights out. It adds great effects to a dramatic eye look. 

These eyeshadows are just £10.00 each, which isn't that bad considering how good they are. You can also purchase these shades in pot form if you don't have a palette for just £12.50. I purchased mine online - www.maccosmetics.co.uk
